Apex Legends players have been eagerly anticipating the August 7 update, and it’s finally here. The update brings a whole host of changes and improvements to the game, including a major rework for the legend Revenant.
Revenant has long been one of the least used legends in Apex Legends, but the developers are hoping that this update will make him more viable and popular. The rework includes a brand new class for Revenant – he is now classified as a Skirmisher.
In terms of abilities, Revenant’s passive ability is called Assassin’s Instinct. It allows him to highlight nearby enemies who are low on health, and enhances his crouch walking and wall climbing abilities. His tactical ability, Shadow Pounce, allows him to unleash a powerful forward pounce that can be charged for greater distance. His ultimate ability, Forged Shadows, creates a shroud of hardened shadows that blocks direct damage and regenerates after breaking, with the added bonus of refreshing his shadows and tactical abilities upon knocking down an opponent.
In addition to the Revenant rework, the update also brings some changes to the game’s maps and ring behavior. The Battle Royale mode now includes the Broken Moon, Kings Canyon, and Olympus maps in the rotation for public matchmaking. The ring has also been updated with changes to size, damage, and timings in order to improve the pacing of the early and mid game.
There have also been some adjustments to the ranked mode in Apex Legends. LP gain overall has been reduced, and there have been cost adjustments for Diamond+ players. The update also includes changes to armor, crafting rotation, care package weapon rotation, gold weapon rotation, loot spawn rates, weapons, hop-ups, legends, maps, modes, bug fixes, and quality of life improvements.
Overall, the August 7 update for Apex Legends brings a significant amount of changes and new features to the game. Whether you’re a fan of Revenant or just excited to experience the improvements to maps, rings, ranked mode, and gameplay balance, there’s something for everyone in this update. So, jump into the game and start exploring all the new content and enhancements that Apex Legends has to offer.
