During the recent Pokémon Presents event, Game Freak unveiled new details about the upcoming Scarlet and Violet expansions, namely The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk. These expansions will introduce a variety of new Pokémon, including the highly anticipated Paradox legendary Pokémon.
One exciting feature of these expansions is the addition of new evolutions for existing Pokémon. For instance, players can expect to encounter Dipplin, a grass/dragon-type evolution of Applin, and Archaludon, a dragon/steel-type evolution of Duraludon. Alongside these, there will also be Paradox Pokémon inspired by Raikou and Cobalion. These additions follow the pattern set by the prehistoric Suicine and futuristic Virizion featured in Scarlet’s Walking Wake and Violet’s Iron Leaves expansions.
In addition to the new Pokémon, the DLCs will also introduce several returning Pokémon not previously available in the game. These additions further enhance the gameplay experience and provide more options for trainers to build their teams.
One intriguing aspect is the role of the Paradox Pokémon in the game’s story. Will the Raikou and Cobalion variants play a significant narrative role like their counterparts in the main game, or will they be limited to Tera Raids like the Walking Wake and Iron Leaves Pokémon? The upcoming expansions, titled The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, seem to suggest that players will learn more about these Paradox Pokémon and their connection to the main game’s final area.
The first expansion, The Teal Mask, is set to release on September 13, with The Indigo Disk scheduled for a later release this year. Fans of the Pokémon series can look forward to an exciting array of new Pokémon and thrilling gameplay experiences in these expansions.
