Unveiling the Secrets of the Sharran Sanctuary in Baldur’s Gate 3 | Gametides

The Sharran Sanctuary is a hidden gem within the Shadowlands of Baldur’s Gate 3. This secluded location may easily go unnoticed if you’re not paying close attention, but the rewards are well worth the effort. Not only will you gain insight into Shar, but you’ll also have the opportunity to gain approval from Shadowheart. Read on to discover how to find and enter the Sharran Sanctuary in Baldur’s Gate 3.

To unlock the entrance to the Sharran Sanctuary, you’ll need to solve a small puzzle. Fortunately, we’ve already covered the details on where to go and what to do. Make sure to refer to our guide on solving the plaque puzzle before proceeding.

Once inside the sanctuary, you’ll come face to face with a spiral staircase and a chilling statue of Lady Shar herself. While there may not be much to do in this initial room, the true secrets of the Sharran Sanctuary can be unveiled by solving three additional puzzles. In this room, you’ll find three statues of Shar, one in the center and the other two hidden behind pillars. Each statue has a plaque that poses a question, and you’ll need to answer with a Saving Throw.

To gain access to the inner sanctum of the Sharran Sanctuary, you must read and correctly answer all three plaques. The Saving Throw DC for each question is 14, which is reasonably achievable. Nevertheless, it’s a good idea to save and be prepared to reload if necessary. Keep in mind that certain character classes in Baldur’s Gate 3 may provide unique dialogue options for these challenges. For example, a Warlock character might have a background-related option available for the center statue. However, don’t worry if you don’t have these bonuses, as a Saving Throw is possible for all characters regardless of class.

Upon successfully answering all three plaques, a hidden door will open behind the center statue. Inside, you’ll find an altar dedicated to Shar, which will prompt you to draw blood. Don’t be alarmed, as nothing harmful will come from this action. Drawing blood at the altar will not only earn you Shadowheart’s approval but also reward you with a Scroll of Blight and Revivify, as well as an Elixir of Necrotic Resistance and a Potion of Angelic Reprieve. These valuable items are well worth the minimal effort required. So make sure to add a visit to the Sharran Sanctuary in Baldur’s Gate 3 to your to-do list.
