Baldur’s Gate 3, the highly anticipated game that was recently released on PC, is set to make its way to PlayStation 5 in September. Larian Studios, the developer of the game, has announced that preloading on PS5 will begin on August 31 for those who purchased the Digital Deluxe edition.
In addition to the preloading option, Larian has also confirmed that there will be an early access period on PS5, similar to what was offered on PC. This means that console players will have the opportunity to jump into the game before its official release.
For Digital Deluxe edition owners, preloading will start on August 31 at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET. The standard edition of the game will be available for preloading on September 4 at the same time. Early access for Digital Deluxe edition owners will begin on September 2 at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET. Unfortunately, there will be no early access for those who purchase the standard edition, and they will have to wait until September 6 to start playing.
The Digital Deluxe edition of Baldur’s Gate 3 comes with several in-game extras, including the Divinity Bard song pack, a dice theme, and the Treasures from Rivellon pack, among other items.
Larian has also confirmed that the PS5 edition of Baldur’s Gate 3 will include all the fixes and improvements that were made to the PC version. The developer is also considering an Xbox release, but it wants to ensure that the game runs smoothly on both Xbox Series S and Series X before making it available on the platform.
Since its release on PC, Baldur’s Gate 3 has been a huge success, garnering over 875,000 peak concurrent players and quickly climbing up the Steam charts. In fact, during its first weekend, Baldur’s Gate 3 accounted for a quarter of the total playtime on Steam.
