Activision has confirmed that this year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will be a premium release, priced at $70 USD for the standard edition. This announcement comes in response to speculation that the game might be offered at a lower price.
Over the past year, there has been uncertainty surrounding the 2023 Call of Duty game. At one point, it was rumored that Activision would not release a full game in the series this year. However, the company quickly clarified that Modern Warfare III would indeed be a full, premium release. Serving as a direct sequel to 2022’s Modern Warfare II, the game is expected to feature a campaign, multiplayer, and Zombies.
The full reveal of Modern Warfare III will be held inside Warzone on August 17. In addition, there will be an in-game event where players can earn special items and rewards. The confirmed price of $70 for the standard edition leaves no room for an upgrade price or expansion.
Alongside the standard edition, there will also be a Vault Edition of Modern Warfare III. Historically, this premium edition has included various digital extras and is priced around $100. The game is set to launch on November 10 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, as well as PS4 and Xbox One. Rumors suggest that a beta version is in the works, with a possible exclusive release on PlayStation consoles.
