Starfield, the highly anticipated game from Bethesda, is set to release in less than a month. However, fans have become increasingly anxious as there has been no official confirmation that the game has gone “gold”, a term used to indicate that the game is complete and ready for distribution. Bethesda’s Head of Publishing, Pete Hines, has recently addressed these concerns and assured fans that there is nothing to worry about.
In response to a fan’s tweet about Starfield’s marketing, where the fan expressed their desire to know when the game would go gold and when pre-downloads would be available, Hines urged fans to take a deep breath. He expressed confidence in his team and assured them that everything was under control.
This response comes as a relief to fans who have been eagerly anticipating the release of Starfield. With just weeks to go until the game’s launch, the lack of information on preloading had caused some worry among fans, especially in light of the past issues with game performance in Bethesda titles.
It was previously rumored that Starfield would be available for preloading on August 9th, based on a leaked Amazon US listing. However, this information turned out to be false.
Bethesda games are known for their occasional bugs and glitches, so it is understandable that fans may have concerns about Starfield’s performance at launch. However, Hines’ reassurance should help assuage some of those concerns.
Fans will have to patiently wait until September 6, 2023, when Starfield releases on PC and Xbox Series X|S, to see how the game performs. In the meantime, they can take solace in the fact that the Bethesda team is fully aware of what they are doing.
